BBC Bitesize

Hi Everyone,

The BBC Bitesize Lockdown Learning schedule starts tomorrow (Mon 11th Jan). We found this really helpful during the first lockdown as the kids thought it was great learning from familiar faces.

We also enjoyed the range of games and activities they offer along side the lessons, which we found great for the kids to have fun while learning at the same time.

The primary school lessons can be found on CBBC and the secondary school lessons will be shown on BBC2 alternatively you can watch them on iPlayer at your own convenience.

Chester Zoo Virtual Days

 Hi Everyone,

We're very excited that Chester Zoos virtual days are back you can watch live or catch up when it's convenient over on their Facebook and YouTube channels.

Starting today (Fri 8 Jan) from 10am there will be a WHOLE DAY of amazing animal antics. We absolutely loved these live days last year and made them into virtual school trips. We had facepainting,  zoo picnics and lots of drawings and animal fact activities to do while watching.

Hope you all enjoy some animal fun with Chester Zoo.

Blue Peter Badges

 Hi Everyone,

During the last lockdown our girls really had alot of fun earning Blue Peter badges. Our youngest made a pretty impressive robot while our eldest created a coeliac friendly cookbook.

The girls were really engaged with these tasks and was a nice activity to do as a fun part of home schooling. We can't wait to use our free entry badges at some point this year 🀞

1000 Hours Outside Challenge

 Hi Everyone,

We recently came across the 1000 hours outside challenge and it really resonated with us. The idea is to get kids motivated to be away from screens and enjoy time in nature. The challenge is to spend 1000 hours outside during the course of a year.

The best bit about this idea is that it works for the full family and you can make it whatever you want. More walks with the dogs, family bike rides or running around the garden. The skies the limit! Aslong as your're outdoors, it's counts.

On the 1000 hours outside website they have lots of charts that you can download to track your time outdoors and help keep you motivated.

This definitely feels like a good time to start, even with all the local restrictions, we are still encouraged to exercise. So let's have as much fun as safely possible with our time outside.

We'd love to see the progress you make if you take up the challenge and we will put a collective #notboredoutdoors total up at the end of the year.
